Pajama Party

One of my most favorite times of the day is when I put on my pajamas for the night.  If I am being perfectly honest, some days that is earlier than later!  I have never been a fan of sleeping in old t-shirts and sweats.  I think making your night-time routine relaxing and pretty contributes to a peaceful night.
 In the winter, I am all about the flannel pajamas, but in the summer light and pretty.  I have 3 grown boys in my house, besides my husband, so coverage has always been the name of the game for me, and I am NOT a fan nightgowns so you’ll see none of those in my list here…sorry.

1.  Vintage Pajama Set  I love this set, it reminds me of some from the movies.  Have you seen the movie, The Holiday?  I love the line where Arthur describes to Iris what a “meet cute” is…that’s what I think of with these!
2.  Lounge Cami  Nothing like a cute cami to throw on with some lounge pants or sleep shorts.
3.  Pajama Set Well obvi I would choose some from my favorite Tarjay!  These cute things are on their way to me!
4.  Long Sleeve Pajama Set another cute pair from Target!  I love the sweet pattern on these!
5.  PJ Salvage Set I really love the cute pattern on these…coffee and eye masks!
6.  Plush Hoodie Set I have and love these!  They are hands down the softest things ever!
I recently picked up these two pieces at Wal-mart.  I actually wore them to an event that was a “pajama party”.  They are super soft and the perfect set for lounging at home, or great if you might have company at your house!
If you are looking for some new pajamas, I hope I have inspired you with some cute options!

DIY Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

Sugar sugar!! Thank your party guests by sending them home with this yummy Brown Sugar Lip Scrub packaged in darling jars. This scrub only requires 3 ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard! Coconut oil is the main ingredient and has so many wonderful uses and properties. If you don’t already use it I think you will become a fan! Natural homemade products make everyone feel good and this one will do just that, plus if you happen to get a taste…it’s delicious too!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 5 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

Directions

  1. Stir the coconut oil and honey together with the back of a spoon. If the coconut oil is too hard to stir, gently warm it in your hands, or in the sun (or in the microwave, if you use one), to slightly soften the coconut oil before stirring.
  2. Add in the brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Scoop into favor jars.
  4. To Use: Just rub a little lip scrub on your finger, apply to your lips, and gently scrub with your fingertip. Lick, wipe or rinse off.

Brusha Brusha…clean those brushes!

Whether you have spent a little or alot of money on your make-up brushes
it is SO important to keep them clean!

DSC_3945

Make-up and bacteria build up on the bristles and that can be bad for your skin….so a once a month cleaning is a great idea!

I am just not willing to spend $10 – $15 on make-up brush cleaner when making my own is so easy and economical!

Here’s how you make it!
1 cup water
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
1/2 Tablespoon Liquid Dish washing soap
(I used Method…a grease fighting formula helps to break down the make-up)
1/2 Tablespoon Mild Shampoo
(I used baby shampoo)
1 Tablespoon leave in conditioner – this makes your bristles so soft!
(I used Lucy’s No More Tangles 🙂

Mix all ingredients together gently so you don’t create too many bubbles
Pour into a small squeeze bottle to store

To clean your brushes:

Pour some of your cleaner into a dish
Dip your brush and gently tap and swish…do not mash it around or you will damage your bristles
Wipe your brush back and forth on a clean OLD towel to remove makeup

(depending on how dirty your brushes are you might have to repeat this step several times, changing out your dirty cleaner)

For larger brushes (powder and bronzer) I find it works better if you put some of your cleaner in a spray bottle and spray the bristles…if you dip these brushes in a bowl of cleaner they just suck it right up!

I ended up making 2 batches of this cleaner to clean about a dozen brushes…my foundation, blush and bronzer brushes used up alot of cleaner

When all the makeup has been removed from your brushes lay them FLAT on a clean towel to dry
(don’t store them upright when they are wet, you do not want water to seep down into the shaft of your brush)

If you haven’t cleaned your brushes in awhile, I think you will be pleasantly surprised how soft the bristles are!

Natural Beauty DIY’s

I recently shared a few DIY’s on my Instagram page, and they were a big hit…so I thought I would share them again here!

I am a HUGE fan of essential oils and all their amazing benefits.  Working them into my sknincare regime was a no brainer.

{Facial Cleansing Wipes}

Fill jar with half of the cotton rounds, pour half of the above mixture over, add the other half of the cotton rounds followed by the remaining liquid.

**I make these cleansing wipes for my 12 year old daughter.  She is just starting to have minor breakouts, and I really want her to use natural products without any harsh ingredients.  I love knowing whats in these!

{Face Toner}

Pour all ingredients into glass bottle.  Store in a cool dark place.

**This toner is my FAVORITE.

{Passion Tea Lemonade}

Prepare Tazo tea according to package directions.  In a glass with ice add 2-4 drops lemon essential oil and stevia to taste!

**I am a huge fan of Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade, and really wanted to find a way to make it at home with less sugar…this is it!!

{Eye Make Up Remover}

Whip coconut oil in blender until light and fluffy, place in mason jar.  Store in a cool dark place.
