Sugar sugar!! Thank your party guests by sending them home with this yummy Brown Sugar Lip Scrub packaged in darling jars. This scrub only requires 3 ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard! Coconut oil is the main ingredient and has so many wonderful uses and properties. If you don’t already use it I think you will become a fan! Natural homemade products make everyone feel good and this one will do just that, plus if you happen to get a taste…it’s delicious too!
- 1/2 c. Coconut Oil
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- 5 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
- Stir the coconut oil and honey together with the back of a spoon. If the coconut oil is too hard to stir, gently warm it in your hands, or in the sun (or in the microwave, if you use one), to slightly soften the coconut oil before stirring.
- Add in the brown sugar and mix well.
- Scoop into favor jars.
- To Use: Just rub a little lip scrub on your finger, apply to your lips, and gently scrub with your fingertip. Lick, wipe or rinse off.

I love mixed metals, whether I’m wearing them or styling them. So mixing them on my bar cart was an easy YES! I am in love with all the copper barware items that are available, so I used some of my favorites and styled up this baby to kick off some (hopefully) sunny weather on its way to the PNW. Below I’ve linked some of my favorite “bar cart styling items” AND a coupon code to the Copper Mug Co!!
Wine glasses (these are my fave! The long elegant stem is ALL the things!)
Geometric Terrarium (so many possibilities with these! I collect matchboxes, so this is a fun way to store them.)
Bar Cart …I will forever love my bar cart! If you’re not into using it for drinks, it makes a great side table or a fun display for books etc!
Black/White Dishtowel LOVE LOVE LOVE the stripe on these towels, and they not only look great but are amazing quality!
I also love adding fresh flowers or greenery, and of course, pretty bottles of sparkling water, wine and some pretty coasters.
Feeling a little inspired to get your cart set for Spring?? Don’t forget to grab the coupon code above for the Copper Mug Co.!

Happy Spring Friends! Ready or not in your neck of the woods, Spring fashion is in full swing! Over the weekend Lucy and I attended a fun Spring Fashion Event with Macys and my friends at Gossip & Glamour and Styled Seattle.
One of the “perks” of getting older and being an over 40+ blogger, is that people don’t expect you to follow all the trends. Some trends….well they need to stay with the younger girls, and then there are some that can be left to interpretation for anyone which is a lot of fun. The Spring trends for this year are perfect for any age in my opinion and some of my favorites! So let’s get started!
Leather Jacket / the color Blush
One of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe is my black faux leather jacket. I have had mine for 2+ years and it’s a staple (see what I wore to the show..not kidding) It was on the runway again over this gorgeous Blush (IT color for the season) dress. So don’t stick that baby in the back of your closet…keep it front and center and pair it with everything!
The Bomber Jacket / Pattern Mixing
The bomber jacket is another great ageless piece this year. You can find them in solids, satins, florals and lace! Pair it with jeans to skirts they look adorable.
Pattern mixing is one of my favorite trends, and I have been doing for years! As Jennifer Lovin from Jenniferlovin.com shared, the key is to find a common color palette and it naturally binds the patterns together. In the photo below the theme of black and white in the stripe skirt and the floral bomber makes this outfit work perfectly!
The Utility Jacket
Again, another trend that I’ve been wearing non-stop! Olive green is a perfect neutral and works with everything. The utility jacket is light and gives the perfect additional layer to a jeans and tee outfit.
I love this one! I have a few tops in my closet with amazing sleeves, and they are so fun! They look great with a simple skirt, jeans or a great pair of trousers like the ones below.
Florals Florals Florals
Enough said? Dresses, blouses, bomber jackets, shoes…florals are everywhere! I have yet to get anything in this print, but I know there will be something!
So, what do you think? Are these some trends that you can see yourself working into your wardrobe and style??
Today I wanted to share one of my favorite details when creating a Celebration to remember.
Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, a retirement, or a life lived, creating a display of memorabilia from the person of honor is a loving tribute. It creates a sense of who they are and all the things that brought them joy throughout their life.
Photos and articles about accomplishments copied and framed gives your guests some insight into highlights and special events. Adding in a little about their favorite hobbies shows a side of someone’s passions.
By creating this either in a tablescape or doing smaller displays as centerpieces is a really fun way for everyone to connect and share fun stories and memories they may have, or get a glimpse into a side of the person they didn’t know.
You can see another celebration I styled here for a Retirement/70th Birthday party where I created centerpieces from mementos from the gentleman’s travels and life as a college professor.
I love creating events that are personal and meaningful. I hope you’ll find something here to inspire your next Celebration.
