Red White and Blue Desserts

Well, here we are, two weeks from the 4th of July!  Not really sure how that happened, but here in the Pacific Northwest, the 4th symbolizes our kick off to Summer!  I love the feeling of pride when I see these colors.  I am currently prepping my 4th porch, which I will share soon, but in the meantime I thought it would be fun to give you some dessert inspo for that bbq you’re planning or the one you are attending.

With the internet, there is no reason to reinvent the wheel here people.  Pinterest has let millions of creative gems out there share their creations with you, and imitation is the best form of flattery..am I right??

So here you go!  I’ve rounded up a few fun patriotic sweet treats and a yummy drink for your celebration!

Jewel Toned Wedding Tablescape {Styled Shoot}

Jewel tones are some of the most vibrant and luxurious of colors. Some might think of a jewel toned wedding tablescape as one for the Fall or Winter months, but by adding in pops of yellow or coral, as we’ve done here, definitely makes the color palette spring and summer appropriate. This beautiful table with its watercolor hand-lettered place cards and touches of gold, is elegant, beautiful and so easy to recreate.

I reached out to Rachel from The Brightline Studio to create these amazing watercolor and gold embossed place cards.  They are so beautiful and added the touch I wanted for the table.

I love a layered table, so by layering two different types of plate chargers and a few different plates it creates the depth and interest that I was going for.

One of my best tips when creating floral arrangements for your table, if you are not a florist like myself, is to buy a pre-made bouquet in the color scheme you’re looking for and then cut and arrange into a container.  This is such a great way to save money, but look like you spent much more!

Watercolor DIY coasters were a fun and easy addition to the tablescape.  I used the place cards as inspiration and love how they look!

A Celebration to Remember

Today I wanted to share one of my favorite details when creating a Celebration to remember.

 Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, a retirement, or a life lived, creating a display of memorabilia from the person of honor is a loving tribute.  It creates a sense of who they are and all the things that brought them joy throughout their life.

Photos and articles about accomplishments copied and framed gives your guests some insight into highlights and special events.  Adding in a little about their favorite hobbies shows a side of someone’s passions.

By creating this either in a tablescape or doing smaller displays as centerpieces is a really fun way for everyone to connect and share fun stories and memories they may have, or get a glimpse into a side of the person they didn’t know.

You can see another celebration I styled here for a Retirement/70th Birthday party where I created centerpieces from mementos from the gentleman’s travels and life as a college professor.

I love creating events that are personal and meaningful.  I hope you’ll find something here to inspire your next Celebration.
