Easter Basket Ideas for the Tween/Teen

In our house we are past the days of toys in Easter baskets…don’t get me wrong, my 20 something boys still love a good Nerf gun!
¬†Gone are the days of wind up bunnies and bubbles…so I thought I would put together a few basket ideas for the little girls (ahem…the big girls ūüėČ in your life. ¬†My daughter, Lucy, will be 13 this year, and I know all of these things would be a huge hit with her!

You could always add in gift cards and books!
This age really is so fun, as the girls are wanting to be treated older, but still love the idea of getting an Easter basket…I mean seriously, I wish I still got one!

Splurge vs Steal

I always love to share when I find a great deal. ¬†I especially LOVE finding the “look for less” when it comes to trendy items…things I know that I will probably only wear one season/year. ¬†I do believe, on classic pieces it is best to spend your max to have comfort and quality pieces that will last you for years.
I thought it would be fun, to take 4 shoe styles that I am loving right now, and give you a Splurge vs Steal option.  I really cannot believe how similar each of these are!
Pom Pom Booties ¬†(Splurge / Steal) – I am DYING to get my hands on this Steal pair of sneaks! ¬†I am a self-proclaimed sneaker addict, and I think the pom pom’s are adorbs!
Block Heel Sandals ( Splurge / Steal ) РI love the heel height and color of these sandals.  These might be a case where the Splurge price is great already and these could be a classic in your wardrobe.  Maybe if your stepping out of your comfort zone in color, the Steal would be the way to go!
Perforated Bootie ( Splurge / Steal ) РSuper cute and chic!  I personally love the cut of the Steal better than the Splurge!
Espadrille Sandals (Splurge / Steal ) – Now these….so popular last year, and are def on the A-list again! ¬†I love them, but am scared I would feel 10 ft tall…however $60 Steal might make me suffer for fashion! ¬†I have read over and over again, that the Splurge version is SO comfortable.
So, what about you??  Are you a Splurge or Steal gal, or does it just depend on the goods??
Hope you have a great day!

{fashion} Spring Updates on my list!

Spring is close…can you feel it?? ¬†I am so ready, it has has been a looong rainy winter here in the Pacific Northwest.
I have been looking through my closet, and making a list of a few things I would like to add this Spring. ¬†I definitely don’t have a big wardrobe budget, so I usually find the style I’m looking for and then try to thrift something similar or ¬†if it’s something I love, I try to find it at the best price I can!
So, here are some of the pieces I hope to add this Spring.
Spring Must haves
1. ¬†White Jeans. ¬†I had to recently retire my old pair, so this is at the top of my list! ¬†This is something that I will spend a little more on to get the best fit…no one wants a saggy behind!
2.  Ruffle Sweater.  I recently bought this sweater in Navy and I LOVE it.  I tried the Orange on in the store, and cannot believe I left it behind!  The fit and color are on point!
3.  Wedge Espadrilles.  I love this trend, and with a pair of high waisted flares they would be perfect!  I love this pair, and have seen several other styles that I love as well.
4. Fringe and lace up sandals.  I am definitely adding these to my wardrobe.  I love the lace up trend, and the fringe detail on these with the perfect size heel, in my opinion, make the perfect sandal for jeans or a dress!
5. ¬†Distressed Jeans. ¬†I don’t want too many pairs of ripped denim in my wardrobe. ¬†As I get older I know when too much is too much. ¬†I love these because “less is more”. ¬†Again, this will be a time where I will spend a little more to get the look and fit I’m looking for.
Below are a few more things I thought of as I was writing this post…because isn’t there always one.more.thing.??
Lace up flats...definitely on my want list!
Another piece I would like to add, is a crossbody bag.  I usually carry a big bag, but I would love a smaller style for day trips or date nights!
I love this classic sadle bag.
This bag can be used as a crossbody, but also a clutch when the strap is removed.
So, there you have it, just a few “essentials” on my Spring Radar.
p.s. don’t forget to follow me on Instagram too!
