Marshmallow Bird Nests

Marshmallow Bird Nests are a sweet Easter treat!  I am such a sucker for these chocolate eggs, that I start the hunt for them right after Valentines Day!  They fit perfectly tucked in these nests, but how cute would a Peep look as well?

Hero Half Desktop Birds' Nests

These cute little nests look so cute displayed on a cute tiered tray, or use them as part of your place setting during your Easter celebration.  They are a fun and unexpected little suprise when your guests sit down to dinner.

Rosemary Brown Sugar Bacon

You had me at bacon!  I LOVE bacon…I will admit though it is not something I buy or make on a regular basis.  However, every single time I make this recipe my family ALWAYS asks “why don’t you make this more often??”

The best part of this recipe is that you cook your bacon in the over.  If you are not doing that by now, it is time to start!  One pan, no splatters…easy peasy!  So here you go, a delicious sticky sweet bacon with the perfect hint of rosemary…your bacon game will never be the same!

Rosemary Brown Sugar Bacon

  • 1 lb thick cut bacon
  • brown sugar
  • fresh rosemary chopped

Lay your strips of bacon on a baking sheet (you can cover with foil or use a rack..I never do!)

Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped rosemary.   My family loves lots of brown sugar!

Bake at 375 for about 15 min depending on how crispy you like it!

That’s it!!  So easy, so delicious!

Pretzels Please!

Today I am sharing with you, a delicious  homemade pretzel recipe.  Lucy and I have made these a couple times, and they are so SO good!  In fact, we just picked up the ingredients today to make them this week!!  These are perfect heading into Fall and football season!

Soft Pretzels

4 teaspoons yeast + 1 teaspoon sugar + 1 1/4 cup water

3.5 cups flour and additional 1/2 cup at end

2 Tablespoons butter melted

1/3 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt (+more for garnish)

1/2 cup baking soda

4 cups hot water

melted butter

In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, dissolve water, sugar
and yeast. let sit for 10 minutes (until frothy and almost double in size).
Mix together 3 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, and salt, in a large bowl. create a
small well in the center of the flour.

Pour melted butter followed by yeast
mixture into the well.

With a wooden spoon, mix until combined. use
your hands to knead the dough inside the bowl. slowly add the additional
1/2 cup flour while continuing to knead. knead for 7-10 minutes total.
Lightly oil a large bowl. transfer dough to bowl. cover with a dampened
lightweight cloth/towel. place inside the oven with the light turned on (no
heat). let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Remove dough from oven, and turn oven to 425.

In another large bowl, microwave 4 cups water with the baking soda for 3 minutes. stir until baking soda dissolves.

Lightly flour the counter and turn dough out. divide dough into 12 pieces.
Roll each piece into a rope (i prefer to hold both ends and swing the
dough in a circular motion – as if jumping rope). twist into a pretzel
shape – crossing once in the middle.
Gently dip the pretzel into the hot water.

Transfer pretzel to a cookie sheet
lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle additional kosher salt on top.
repeat for remaining dough. (6 pretzels per cookie sheet).

Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for approximately 8
minutes or until browned.

Remove and place sheet on a cooling rack.
Brush pretzels with melted butter. once cooled, store in an airtight
container or freeze for future use

I have been on a crazy sparkling water kick lately!!  Anything from Lacroix to Trader Joe’s Sparking water does the trick!  In the evenings, well by late afternoon, it’s been fun to turn it into my favorite easy cocktail!

This Patron Orange Liqueur is delicious, and it honestly pairs perfect with any flavor of sparkling water.  I purchase this at Trader Joe’s!!  Of course, you could also add tequila as well!

Pour yourself a glass of your favorite flavor of water.

Add in a shot of Patron Orange Liqueur.

Squeeze in fresh lime juice…I love extra lime!

And Enjoy!

I hope you’re enjoying your last little bits of summer and savoring a yummy cocktail!

DIY Brown Sugar Lip Scrub

Sugar sugar!! Thank your party guests by sending them home with this yummy Brown Sugar Lip Scrub packaged in darling jars. This scrub only requires 3 ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard! Coconut oil is the main ingredient and has so many wonderful uses and properties. If you don’t already use it I think you will become a fan! Natural homemade products make everyone feel good and this one will do just that, plus if you happen to get a taste…it’s delicious too!

  • 1/2 c. Coconut Oil
  • 2 Tbsp. Honey
  • 5 Tbsp. Brown Sugar

  1. Stir the coconut oil and honey together with the back of a spoon. If the coconut oil is too hard to stir, gently warm it in your hands, or in the sun (or in the microwave, if you use one), to slightly soften the coconut oil before stirring.
  2. Add in the brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Scoop into favor jars.
  4. To Use: Just rub a little lip scrub on your finger, apply to your lips, and gently scrub with your fingertip. Lick, wipe or rinse off.
