Cheers to the weekend! This week brought very warm temps to Seattle, middle school orientation for my girl (what???) and the pulling of two of her baby teeth to start the ortho process…I have growing pains!!
With next weekend being Labor Day already…I wanted to share this very summery dress before all we want to talk about are boots, blanket scarves and pumpkin anything!!
I bought this dress early in Summer and completely forgot about in my closet..shhhh..dont tell my husband! But really, what’s not to love about tassels?? To me they just say, “fun!” The cute detail on the back of this dress is like a party in the back, right?? So cute! AND…right now it’s under $15!! I linked it for you at the bottom of this post!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

Summer is quickly coming to a close, but I had one more party to throw before we move into my favorite season of the year. I love gathering friends and family together, and my Father-in-law’s birthday was the perfect reason to host a Seafood Boil!!
I love a nautical party, and this palette had that feel with a touch of turquoise!
When I start planning my tablescapes, I get my color pallate together, and for me, these plates and napkins from Oriental Trading set the stage! I then began walking through my home and gathering anything that has a seaside feel or were in the colors I needed!
My first table layer was, of course, plastic tablecovers and a cute red and white check plastic runner, that make cleanup a breeze after a dinner like this! I don’t want my guests worrying about dripping butter on my tablecloths!
Adding the wood plate chargers to my tablescape add the extra layer I was looking for. I used cloth napkins with a paper napkin and tied up with twine.
Each guest had a bucket at their place setting with a crab cracker and utensils…and once the eating was underway, the buckets were the perfect vessels to hold all the discarded shells.
Using a large boil pot, we cooked our meal outside on the patio while visiting with our guests!
This dinner party turned out to be one of my most favorite hosted parties. The laid back summer vibe was perfect for an evening of fun and eating!!
Have you hosted any fun summer parties this year?
